Prince Louys was walking down the one of the long courtyards of the palace when he spotted the Dalish envoys making their way towards him. He frowned at the sight. The two men looked only a few years older than his own nineteen— it seemed that in the pursuit of finding Louys a marriage both domestic and foreign courts had selected only the most handsome of young men in their hopes of ensnaring the prince’s attention. Now that Louys minded the eye candy. The two Dalish men were of average height, with lean frames, and smooth dark brown skin and loose black wavy locks. Perhaps relatives. They wore the tell tell black of lord magistrates of Dalland— their trousers, boots, doublets and puffy sleeves, even the sash that went around their narrow waists were all some shade of black. Only the white ruffled collars of lace escaped the black, in favor of starch white. Dalland was a merchant republic, who rather than being ruled by a royal family, elected from amongst its own aristocracy

Shirou wasn’t much of a scholar when it came to magic. He didn’t tend to study but when he went to clean up the shed where he originally summoned his Saber, he found a really old book with mysterious writing that Shirou didn’t really understand. His first instinct was to put the book back down in the box that he found it in but something was compelling him to keep hold of said book. Instead of putting the book away, he carried it back into his room where he thoroughly explored it. It still didn’t make much sense to him but he didn’t want to put it down. For some reason he carried the book everywhere. A few days after finding the book, he was walking down the street clearly lost in thought when he ran into someone he rather not have seen at all.
